The 18-hole La Mer is a typical British links course built in 1931 by the renowned architect Harry Colt. La Mer is a challenging layout that winds its way through the coastal dunes and rough grasses. Set within superb natural surroundings – between the Forest and the Dunes – it is truly of the most beautiful of European sites and it has been of prime importance to this seaside resort of the Opal Coast.  It has hosted the French Open on six occasions, the most notable being in 1977 when Seve Ballesteros was victorious. Located south of Boulogne and a favoured holiday destination for the British gentry in decades past, it combines some proper, windswept links holes with some which are dominated by trees.
