Vilamoura – Victoria

What we say

Arnie Palmer’s Vilamoura Golf Club (Victoria Course) is becoming a true star of European golf and now takes top Vilamoura billing with the grand Old Golf Course.- it provides a spectacularly thrilling contrast to the latter with its fast-running fairways and greens, huge bunkers and lots of water, specially on the back nine. It’s a classic matchplay venue and has a cracking finale with water running all the way down the par 5 17th and again down the left side of the 18th.

“Victoria Clube de Golfe” is a championship course of 18-hole par 72 course, occupying a total area of 90 hectares and with a total distance of 6,560 meters.  Every care has been taken to ensure the preservation of the existing wetlands, the typical vegetation of carob, olives and almond trees, and several lakes, occupying 13 hectares, providing mirrors of water and strategic reservoirs for watering purposes. With 5/6 tees per hole, wide and undulating fairways, extensive water obstacles and well positioned bunkers;  Victoria will reward heroic and ambitious shots.  Another major attraction is formed by an exceptional driving range and by an enormous putting green area of around 2,500m2. One extraordinary fact concerning Victoria is that the Palmer design team masterly created 18 greens with totally different shapes and sizes. This is one of the distinguishing characteristics of the course, and for which local knowledge will be an advantage.

  • 5 out of 5 WOW

just gets better each time, played in middle of summer this year and amazing experience, 2 over front nine felt like i broke 30. Rough is real rough, just off fairway and your ball will be 3 inches down. Fairways are wide enough to be a bit wild, but you need to be long. Victoria corner has to be played once in your life. Par at 12 needs 260yds plus drive then 200yds over water. Will keep going back till i have finished par par, final hole is almost impossible but great experience, and all for 60 quid with buggy, take note vale de lobo

What a classy place. Your bags are taken from you on arrival and you are treated like royalty from the word go. The clubhouse, bar, changing rooms, course and practice area are pristine. You are given free practice balls, stacked into a pyramid, waiting for you on the driving range! Millenium take note.

amazing, course is perfect, treated like a king. Buy as part of package and its worth it. The last hole is an amazing way to finish, par feels like eagle. Go with friends i got placed with really racist English pair.

  • 4.5 out of 5 Immense !

When i last played the course it was outstanding. Somehow played to my handicap which made the experience even better, but immense course and facilities. Not suprised that the Portugese Masters were held here. Top notch course.

  • 4 out of 5 Nice one Arnie!

    By Adam Hughes

Impressive course with interesting and challenging holes, spoilt only by the current building site behind. The front nine has a links feel about it with well placed bunkers and narrow fairways, whilst the back nine winds itself around the many lakes and ponds. The course is already excellent but will become outstanding when it fully matures. A fantastic set up and a must for all golfers.

Superb course with many challenging holes. Make the most of holes 1-6 as water is in play from then on in a big way! Back 9 is as good as i've played anywhere but probably best to leave the pro v's in the bag! Cant wait to have anothe crack at Victoria.

From start to finish this is a wonderful course with a wonderful set up. Treated from the start like VIP's in luxurious surroundings. The course is a monster, long wet and sandy but very enjoyable. The only hint I would give is, hire a buggy

Great fun. Championship golf requiring length from the tee and thought for the approach shots. Bit of a trek between greens and tees.

If you only ever play one course in Portugal, it must be Victoria. I have never played in such fantastic surroundings and on such awesome greens and fairways. I played it in February and the course was just fantastic. Top Draw.

A superb alternative to the more established Vilamoura courses. This is definately not a course for those who can't keep the ball relatively straight. However if you want to start and finish the day in what as got to be one of the best facilities in the area then this is the place to visit.

  • 3.5 out of 5 Was it worth the money?

    By Anonymous

The Club and Facilities were second to none. With staff ready at your arrival to take your clubs from the car, free range balls waiting make you feel like a pro. Whether it was the wrong time of year to go, but the tee's & greens (spiked) were in poor condition. The front nine were very plesent and the back nine VERY challenging! Overall I thought it probably wasn't worth the green fee.

When I played the course it was in great condition from tee to green. The greens ran brilliant. Personally i preferred the Old Course at Vilamoura because of the scenary and moturity it had, but you can see that in years to come when the Victoria is moture it will be one of the best courses in europe and even the world. Overall Awesome Course.

After playing Quinta Do Lago North the day before and thinking "golf doesn't get any better than this", it did. What a fantastic venue. Any pro will enjoy this course as did I. Greens were superb. Loved the sat-nav on the buggies. I would definately play here again. Arnold Palmer has outdone himself.

From first arriving where we were greeted by friendly, professional staff, to leaving, this was a brilliant experience. Although a very new course, tees, greens and fairways were in perfect condition plus we had the course to ourselves. All the staff treated us like royalty and we could find no faults at all - a wonderful experience.
