Bantry Bay Golf Club

What we say

Not quite as spectacular as Cork corker Old Head but it has its moments. Dynamic design duo Eddie Hackett and Christy O’Connor jnr teamed up to create a clifftop cracker with 14 holes overlooking the Atlantic. And there’s hardly a weak one among what is a great variety of holes.

Bantry Bay Golf Club’s 18 Hole Championship cliff-top golf course, open all year, towers above the head of Bantry Bay, in the Far West of County Cork. Fourteen holes immediately overlook the shore where the warm Gulf Stream first touches land on this side of the Atlantic. Fuchsias abound and there are splendid panoramic views across the sea and islands to the Beara Mountains, Sheep’s Head and the Mizen peninsula’s.

The golf course follows the natural contours of the countryside that results in some breathtaking holes in the picturesquely undulating scenery – even the six lakes and other hazards would charm a landscape artist. This is a golf course that should not be missed if you play in Ireland.

Great test of golf with some great holes, especially 2,6,8,9 and 10. Staff are friendly and the green fees are very well priced for what you pay for. Well worth the vist.
