The K Club Palmer Course

Last Updated:

What we say

Reviewed by pop star Ronan Keating: I love the golf course to bits - everything about it although for an 18 handicapper like me it's a very hard nut to crack! It's such a hard and demanding layout with little or no respite. It certainly has plenty of water and trees to keep you on your toes and although it's not an old golf course, it looks so mature for its relatively tender years and is always in immaculate condition.

The K Club has staged some of golf's biggest events, including of course the legendary 2006 Ryder Cup which saw another historic win for Europe over the Americans, which on its own must make it worth a visit! The Palmer course - designed by the legendary Arnie Palmer - is ably supported by the excellent 18 hole Smurfit golf course.

Stay & Play: There's a luxury five star hotel with facilities to match on site. Here's your chance, albeit at a price, to stay where Tiger, Monty and co. have all stayed and enjoyed there time here, at this incredibly classy establishment.

I had the pleasure of playing both the Palmer & the Smurfit courses the year before the Ryder Cup rate them the best courses I have played if you can avoid the enormous bunkers and the acres of water. A good challenge for any golfer.
