Torrequebrada Golf Club

What we say

Torrequebrada Golf Club is one of the Costa del Sol's more established golf courses, opened in 1976 and hosted the Spanish Open three years later. Short by modern standards, it is nevertheless a tough test with lots of water and mature semi-tropical vegetation. The 3rd hole is only 100 yards long, but Seve once ran up a 7 there. Torrequebrada was apparently Bing Crosby's favourite Spanish golf course – and it's not hard to see why.

  • 5 out of 5 I WORK HERE

I have been reading with interest the comments on this website and think that some people have got us confused with another course. First of all the picture on the website is not of our course, we are not where they say we are Aragon and Catalonia ?? we are in Andalucia, I have contacted the magazine about this for the last two years but to no avail. Also during the past two years our course and staff have improved dramatically and we had nothing but great comments and happy golfers, so these other comments are so far from the truth. Also I would like to know what I did to upset Emma Byrne so that I can defend myself, as I have never ever received a comment like this, and people who know me and how I work at the golf club will think that it was another person working that day called Clare. Hope to see you all at the club soon, it really is worth it.

Poor condition. Great layout through the villas & hotels but greens & tees poor. Better value for money elsewhere!

  • 3 out of 5 Unfriendly staff - not recommended

    By EmmaByrne

I played this course in May with my husband. Although it is a very nice course, we vowed never to return because of the very rude staff. That's what prompted me to leave this review as I could not believe it when I saw that someone on this site was praising Clare. To us she was very rude and very unhelpful. There are so many great courses with friendly staff on this coast that I don't see why we should tolerate bad attitude like Clare's. Not recommended.

I played here as a two ball and was told to join up with people in front even though course was empty. Very snotty staff and course was in poor condition with no grass on the tees and the greens were patchy. Holes on the back nine were like a building site. The local pitch and putts are better value

Course in good condition greens slower than some other courses but in good condition and very fair. Pro shop and changing rooms in process of being refurbished. Splendid views from course.Buggies allowed on fairways which is a plus.
