Moor Park (High)

This long course is the best test of golf in the county in my view. Holes 13 to 17 measure 2,399 yards (par 22), which I believe may be the longest stretch of ve holes in the country. Green fees: £65. Tel: 01923 773146.

Sandy Lodge

An excellent inland links-style layout with six par 3s including the downhill, blind ‘Laddie’s Cockpit’ 7th, the 102-yard ‘Wee One’ 8th.

Porters Park

Brocket Hall (Melbourne)

Crosses the river Broadwater four times, requiring accurate shots to stay dry. The par-5 18th ends in front of the Hall, and provides a ferry ride to reach the green.
