Top 10 Golf Courses - Norfolk

This top 10 comes from County champion: Toby Briggs (Dunston Hall). Handicap: +3.3

This is number one because it’s probably the best links course in Norfolk, with great views across The Wash and beach.
Green fees: £90 midweek, £95 weekends. Tel: 01485 532811.

Royal Cromer

Royal Cromer

Another firm seaside favourite though more of a clifftop layout, Cromer is always in superb condition and with a number of good risk- reward opportunities, you have chances to score well.
Green fees: £65 midweek, £75 weekends. Tel: 01263 512884.

Royal West Norfolk

This is no ordinary links: in fact it’s quite quirky as well as being very challenging.
Green fees: £90. Tel: 01485 210087.

A splendid tree-lined course with good length. Overall it’s pretty challenging with accuracy off the tee being a necessity.
Green fees: From £40. Tel: 01842 752169.

King’s Lynn

In a way, it’s a Thetford lookalike – a densely tree-lined layout that requires great course management to score well and post good numbers.
Green fees: £60 Mon-Sat, £70 Sun. Tel: 01553 631654.

It’s a short course with tight challenging par 3s. While you can shoot 60 on this course, you can also shoot four-over without doing much wrong. I started my golf here.
Green fees: From £20 midweek, £25 weekends.
Tel: 01263 720095.

Royal Norwich

Royal Norwich

Historic parkland layout close to the heart of the county’s capital and has many risk-reward holes, making it a very exciting and enjoyable experience. The club is poised to move to Weston Park on the outskirts of the city.
Green fees: From £25. Tel: 01603 429928.

Dunston hall

Dunston Hall

This is my base where I practise and prepare for tournaments. It has all the facilities you need to develop your game including a varied parkland course and an on-site hotel.
Green fees: From £40. Tel: 01508 470444.

Sprowston Manor

A lush green parkland course with a range of challenging and easy holes. However, the greens play a large part in its defence – they get quick and slick during the summer causing multiple three-putts if your approach shots aren’t up to scratch.
Green fees: From £35.
Tel: 01603 254290.

Great Yarmouth

Gt Yarmouth & Caister

Last but not least, I have to pick this entertaining links which weaves around the popular seaside town’s horse racing track. I won the County Amateur here... I have to like it!
Green fees: £40 midweek, £50 weekends. Tel: 01493 728699.
