The King’s is a Braid design which is sadly now too short to test the pros, having frequently been a stunning venue for the Scottish Open.Braid was commissioned to lay out the course when railway chief Donald Matheson set about creating a ‘Palace in the Glens’ in 1908. Moorland in nature, the fairways wind their way through swathes of heather and gorse, leading Lee Trevino to say: “If heaven is as good as this, I sure hope they have some tee times left.”
