Inevitably St Nicholas is overshadowed by the legendary Open host in the town, but this is a wonderful, traditional links too – expect sandy, free draining soil, gorse, deep bunkers and a bit of breeze. The 16th is highly regarded, a 379-yard two-shotter which is as scenic as it strategic.
