Meldrum is a private club, but you can play this beautifully-manicured parkland – hand-cut greens, cross-cut fairways and hand weeding – by staying in four-star Meldrum House. The course – which is a robust 7,010 yards – was designed
by local man Graeme Webster and he has routed it nicely among the woodland, with some astute water features.
