La Moye Golf Club

What we say

Yes, La Moye is virtually in France. But it’s just 10 minutes from Jersey airport and a 40-minute budget flight from the UK. The weather is better than in England, the course is drier, and the views are arguably as good as anything on the mainland – so why not head for a day trip or a weekend? The James Braid designed course is a tough test for anyone. There are plenty of blind shots, and if you stray too far from the fairways there’s a combination of gorse, trees and cliffs waiting to claim your ball. The views are just unbelievable, especially around the turn, where the long, golden sands of St Ouens’s Bay stretch behind you. It all makes that extra effort of getting on a plane worthwhile.

Located in St Brelade the golfer is presented with stunning views inland of the western parishes and seaward of St Ouens's Bay and the sister Channel Islands of Guernsey, Sark, Herm and Jethou. The course which was established in 1902 has previously been a venue on the PGA European Tour. This 18 hole links type course presents a fair challenge for golfers of all handicaps featuring large hills, pot bunkers, gorse bushes and a punishing rough. A stiff wind will invariably add to the task.
