Brampton Park Golf Club

What we say

The Brampton Park Golf Club is a mature, parkland golf course and is one of the toughest in the county, so it is not a course to be recommended for a beginner! There are some quirky and fun holes to play that feature: big doglegs, huge trees guarding greens and plenty of water, especially at the signature par 3, 4th hole where you’re firing through an avenue of trees to an island green. Overall, it’s a nice parkland golf course if you can find your way round it – you have to search hard for some of the direction signs: we got lost four times!

Brampton Park Golf Club has hosted the East Anglian Championship five times and is a fine parkland venue with one of the most memorable short holes (the par 3, 4th) you're ever likely to play. Its lakes and mature woodland abound with wildlife - the 16th hole is named Badger Alley because one of East Anglia's largest badger colonies lives there.

Accommodation: Four rooms are available in the clubhouse while in Brampton itself you'll find the Grange Hotel plus the George in nearby Buckden.

Excellent course with some very demanding holes, you need to be very accurate with your shots otherwise you will be punished, something most of us mere "hackers" struggle with, the 4th in particular which is a shortish par 3 but with water everywhere and trees where there is no water! This course will teach you to become a good course manager. Good facilities and welcome. Although still very wet and some winter tees still in use has recovered very well from the recent floods. To be recommended.
