Menzies Cambridgeshire Golf Club

What we say

A challenging course kept in good condition. A nice variety of holes, with fairways wide enough on the long holes to give average golfers a good chance of hitting them. The greens roll fast and true. The star hole is the 527-yard par-5 finisher, which features a number of bunkers and water.

Your Reviews

  • 4.5 out of 5 The best greens and a real challenge

    By shaunvl

Seen a few reviews that have said this course is straight and dull??...It certanily isn't, every hole is different, water, length, dog legs, ups and downs (which for this part of the country is rare) and really, really good greens.  Hotel has bars and food all day and night, very friendly people work here.  Well worth the greenfee and of 2-fore-1's accepted.  Course staff not intrusive and work around the players and the drinks cart with a nice cold can of Magners is a real plus when the sun is out. Def worth a visit and much better value than many hotels clubs I have played.

  • 1 out of 5 Waste of time

    By lordpowell

What a waste of a good course, I think when it was owned by moat house this was a great course. Now the greens are terrible, the huts etc un maintained and when we played a fleet of grass cutters spolied the game by cutting right up to us as we were taking shots and blocking shots by chatting. On top of that the noise from the A14 makes relaxing on the course impossible. I have no idea why people rate this club, maybe its snobbery but I have found several of the local lesser known clubs much better on so many levels. Average course, poorly maintained. Shame

  • 3.5 out of 5 Never Boring!

    By barhams

I have been a member of this club for 20 years and felt compelled to leave a review as the reviews so far do not do the course justice! I have played the course close to 1000 times and have never got bored with it! It is possible to score very well, but a bad day will be punished! Playing conditions are variable, I cannot say it is great all year round, but the greens are generally true and fast, particularly in summer. Drainage has been improved greatly in my time at the club and it is rarely boggy these days.

  • 2.5 out of 5 long back nine

    By dannyos

straight and long and stressful..had a great social day there but i can't see the pga seniors heading back soon...15 is a 445 yard dog leg par 4 downhill. you can't hold the fairway at all down the hill..the back nine holes are nearly dead straight...thanks for the day but in no rush back

  • 1 out of 5 surprise surprise another straight hole

    By orange17.4

17 straight holes and to try and make it hard they are long and boring, do yourself a favour and keep travelling down the A14 and play Brampton Park.

17 straight holes, this course has got to rate as one of the worst in East Anglia and to try and make it a hard course they have made it boring and long, do yourself a favour  keep travelling down the A14 and play Brampton Park.

  • 3 out of 5 Excellent course, but not the most stunning in the world!

    By nadger

The course isn't as challenging as some, most of the holes are dead straight but with some good concealed lateral and horizontal hazards. The noise from the A14 can be heard on the first 4 holes, but it didn't bother me at all. The course is in excellent condition all year round, but as it is a hotel you often get hackers playing there. Last time I played some bloke came and accused me of stealing his ball! I pointed out that it was about 15 yards further down the fairway but at no point did the t**t appologise!
