Old Nene Golf & Country Club

What we say

The flat, featureless fenland landscape doesn’t lend itself to golfing drama. But it’s friendly and fun and offers value-for-money – you can tackle the nine-holer in midweek for just £7 with a 2-FORE!-1 voucher.

Old Nene Golf & Country Club is only a short course, with 9 holes and 18 tees.

The mature trees that line most holes as well as the odd water hazard help in creating a tricky course and, as a result, accuracy and not disctance is to be favoured round here.

After you've finished your round, the warm and friendly atmosphere in the clubhouse will help you to wind down even more.

  • 3 out of 5 Tidy 9 hole course

    By Stoopy

I've played the Old Nene a few times and have to say it's a tidy 9 hole course. Not the most challenging course in cambs but good value. Each time I've played the green's have been superb, it's always nice to find a course with greens that you can hit and get the ball to spin. The difference between the front nine and rear nine tee's are minimal. I think the best hole's on the course is the 3rd and 4th, The 3rd being a par 4 dog leg right, where it tease's you to go for the green which is protected by a large mature tree. The 4th being a long par 3 thats guarded by water. If you got time for a quick 9 holes tihs course is well worth a try.

  • 3.5 out of 5 Great little course

A great little course, but one which tests the whole range of shots! Fav holes - par 3 4th (tough over the water onto the green from the tee!) and the par 4 9th (great long tee required to clear the 2 dykes!). I will be back!

Very enjoyable, straight-forward nine holer. Not too wet under foot for the Fens. All holes have double tees, normally giving you a little variation, as they havn't just been placed one three yards behind the other. No hole seemed to be overly difficult, however the longer version of the par 3, 4th was testing and the 9th was interesting when you don't know the way.
