Ballards Gore Golf Club

What we say

Ballards Gore has a good variety of holes, with tricky Par 3's, a mix of short and long Par 4's and Par 5's that offer good scoring opportunites.

The 5 lakes on the course always make you think about your lay-ups and approach shots, while the lack of rough means finding fairways shouldn't be difficult and makes the course accessible for all golfers.

Ballards Gore also boasts an impressive 12-acre practice area, and a 100 yard practice hole.

I have played this course many times now and can say for the most part that I have enjoyed each round. Greens can be quite quick though are not cut often enough for me and can get a lot slower by days end. The index1 is quite interesting in that its only a drive and a flick with a wedge. However if the drives not straight its very difficult to get your par, a very frustrating hole. £40 for 18 holes is ridiculous and you feel its only that high so that the 2 4 1 guy has to pay £20 which is about what it should be. This seems to be a common factor among the 2 4 1 courses I have been playing. Still I would say this is worth a visit and see what score you get on the 2nd the index 1.
