What we say

Set in 300 acres of mature Essex parkland, Channels is the main course on Cliffords Estate.

It's a course that's accessible to both high and low handicapeprs, with several holes offering a 'Tiger line' as well as a safer route.

It's a picturesque course with several water hazards that are waiting to catch any loose shots. Avoid these though and you can make some putts on their usually well looked-after greens to shoot a good score.

    Although not long the course is a good test with several tee shots to carry over water, blind shots, tight & uphill fairways. Although true the greens were slow but it had been raining the previous 2/3 days. The opening 4 holes are OK but uninspiring but after that the course moves into the old quarry & gets interesting, there are several very enjoyable holes notably the 6th, 8th, 11th, 13th & 17th. Course is quite undulating with several steep, uphill slopes to greens & some tees are a walk but this means each hole is isolated from others. Pleasant clubhouse & staff. Green fee maybe a bit excessive.
