Thorndon Park Golf Club

What we say

Steeped in history, but with a modern feel, Thorndon Park golf course is an Essex gem. Approached from a tree-lined drive, Harry Colt's masterpiece is set amid 240 acres of an Elizabethan deer park that was once owned by the illustrious Petre family. The course, opened in 1920, boasts lush fairways surrounded by woodland, well-drained soil and subtly undulating greens ensuring you will play a round to remember. Individual challenging holes gently wind through the ancient woods dating back to the 13th Century. As you play the final hole of the 6512-yard course, the magnificence of the Palladian Thorndon Hall, site of the old clubhouse, comes into view.
