What we say
Set alongside the Wash this remote spot rewards those who make the trek. A strong championship links. A classic out and back links. It has some lovely par 3s, (4, 7 and 16), and the blind 14th is a lottery! As with many links, its finish can wreck your score; both 17 and 18 are played to narrow raised greens – if you miss, you’ll have a tricky chip from way below the cup. The clubhouse has some great views over the course, and the Wash. Martin Hawtree’s five-year evolution has reaped rewards and this is a proper championship links.
The Hunstanton Golf Club has an imposing clubhouse, perched on a hill overlooking the North Sea. This clubhouse sets the tone for one of England's best links layouts. It features hard, fast-running fairways, several memorable holes and 18 of the finest greens in the country. The Hunstanton Golf Club is set on the shores of the Wash, the course here in Hunstanton was initially a nine-hole golf course until 1891 when the golf club bought some additional sand dunes for £25 - not a bad little investment! The second nine were completed in 1896. The course is for all levels of golfer.
Hunstanton Golf Club is one of those magical, uncomplicated links golf courses where, no matter what you score, you always walk off with a smile on your face. The front nine starts relatively flatly and meekly but once you hit the par 3 7th, the sea comes into view and the excitement builds until it reaches a crescendo over the final six holes.
Hunstanton Golf Club was founded in 1891 and is a championship links on the North Norfolk coast overlooking The Wash. It has set the scene for many prestiigious events down the years, most notably the Boys’ Amateur Championship (1990 and 2005), the English Amateur Strokeplay (Brabazon Trophy) five times, the British Ladies and English Amateur Championships six and three times respectively, plus 24 other national events going back to 1914.

Linkcs course exactly as it should be. It feels like the course has been here for 500 years. And yet, there is variety and pace. No two hole are the same and each is a mini challenege in its own right. Into the wind somem of the par 4s become monsters and it's not for the faint-hearted. Greens are top-notch even in the winter. What a seaside treat!!!
