Thetford Golf Club

What we say

The course was in top nick when we played, especially the greens. There’s a stirring finale, but don’t over-club your approach at the 18th – otherwise you’ll be out of bounds on the clubhouse patio! The star hole is a difficult choice because Thetford doesn’t really do weak holes – even the relatively new holes around the turn have bedded in well. The par-3 3rd is a treat and the dog-leg par-4 5th, where you’re firing down into a valley, is also pretty special.

Founded in 1912, Thetford Golf Club is a classic James Braid designed heathland course and reputed to be one of the finest courses in East Anglia.
The course is set in the Breckland Forest area of East Anglia. Thetford is covered in pine, oak and birch trees - gorse, broom and heather will greet you if you venture too far from the fairways. It is an 18 hole, 6,849 yards, par 72 course.

Cannot believe this course had no reviews, so i need to blow Thetford Golf Clubs trumpet myself. Yes i am a member and will remain so for many years. It's just a great place to be all year round the greens and fairways are in superb condition all year round. In fact i played last week on winter greens (first time in a long while) and even some of these match other courses main greens. Thetford Golf Course winds it's way through Thetford forest so stay on the fairways otherwise it's the woods for you! The views can be stunning and so is the wild life. Also you will find it very challenging, everytime i play another course i shave shots from my game, so if you want a true test of golf you need a round here.
