What we say
This nine-hole, 18-tee course offers a testing but enjoyable challenge. It’s over a century old and set in the heart of Peak District country so the scenery is out of this world, Beware the tricky, tiny greens and subtle borrows.
The thriving market town of Bakewell lies in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Overlooking the town and River Wye, Bakewell Golf Club enjoys glorious views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Founded in 1899 this 9 hole / 18 tee course offers golfers of all standards a testing but enjoyable challenge. The club can cater for corporate hospitality and visiting societies. I loved playing this course, although the lack of a map on the first tee was a little confusing (basically you need to go for the closest flag directly in front of you!). The views on this course are fantastic, and some of the holes are wonderful! In particular I enjoyed the eigth and ninth holes. However, the price per round of £25 is a little steep in my opinion. We played 9 at £15, but to be fair to them they do make clear that they are willing to accept all two for one vouchers and were very friendly when we arrived. They don't accept cards for payment either.
