What we say

Chapel-en-le-Frith is something of an enigma: being on the edge of the Peak District National Park you’d assume you need to be physically fit and able to tackle this course… but you’d be wrong. It nestles in a valley and is easy walking with the peaks merely acting as a beautiful backdrop.

Situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park in north Derbyshire, Chapel-en-le-Frith Golf Club is a challenging and enjoyable golf course and is considered one of the most picturesque in the north Midlands.

Excellent course in stunning surroundings. We played at 9am on a Friday and had a relaxed and comfortable 18 with no need to rush. Fairways and greens in very good condition. Would definitely return.

Played Chapel a few items and every time I have been impressed with how friendly and welcoming the staff are and the condition of the course.

I am a beginner and really enjoyed playing what for me is a really challenging course (even if I did not enjoy the card I posted!). Myself and 3 friends played at bargain rate (2 fore 1 accepted) on a rather cold and damp May Saturday. The views were beautiful and I can imagine that they will be stunning on a sunny day. The hole descriptions are very, very helpful and make up for a less than brilliant course map on the scorecard. The tees and fairways were in great condition, although the greens are still showing the effects of the harsh winter we have had. My only negative comment would be that we felt pressurised to hurry occasionally by following groups including one group who persistently played off the tee before we reached the greens. Perhaps they were visitors and not club members as those members we spoke to were friendly and welcoming.   We will play again, hopefully on a warm summers day.

Played this course Sunday 2nd November in a four ball with 2 fore 1 vouchers so only £15 which is excellent value. The welcome we received from the pro , bar and members was superb. The course is interesting with some Stunning views. The front 9 is played over the road and has some interesting holes I think it was the fourth with a dogleg left. The greens were in superb condition for the time of year with some tricky pin positions. Back over the road for the back 9 which is a little less interesting apart from the 11th and 18th that make you think about club selections. All in all our welcome was that good and the course that good I've enquired about getting our golf society on there. It's just over an hours drive from Sheffield and well worth it in my opinion, I'd like to go back and play it in the Summer
