  • 4.5 out of 5 Great Course

    By FireBob

Staying at the Hotel which is very good indeed, played the course one evening, in my opinion the course was vey good, greens were challenging and very fast, each hole was well marked, and various tees throughout the course had ball washes which was a nice idea cost of round was very reasonable £12.50 after 4pm not sure if that was a prefferential rate as I was staying at the hotel

Have recently played this course.  Thought the course itself was very good and challenging, but was let down by the quality of the greens, as each green had been areated leaving it hard to putt. Would definitely play it again, but would phone first to find out the condition of the greens.

  • 3 out of 5 Good Course hotel service lets it down!

Society of 28 golfers plus 14 partners/wifes. Enjoyed the course on both days in good condition. Spike bar not open on mondays so you have long walk across front of hotel, through reception up steps just to get a drink and then back again to sit by 18th outside the spike bar? Food slow arriving for pre-booked evening meals people finished before food arrived for others. Rooms have no thermostatts so all hot and windows on ground floor rooms open fully so no security.

What a fantastic course. It has been a while since I last played at Telford but WOW what a difference. I hardly recognised the hotel as I arrived. The refurbishment is amazing and it doesnt stop at the hotel, the golf course is the best I have played in years. This a must for any golfer !

  • 3 out of 5 Nice course but not for winter

    By corb

I played the course for the first time today and was quite pleased. The greens were in good condition for the time of year but the fairways were very boggy. i will be going back to give it another go but only in the summer months. The staff were very friendly and helpful

First time out on this course after a recomendation from a friend. After phoning and booking a tee time i recieved a few calls through the week with updates about the course, drainage and irrigation work had been done but was told it wouldnt affect the round and it didnt, the course was great. I was also called and warned that new top work had been done to the greens and this was obvious, very patchy and spars greens but very quick wit the new work goin on. The course was challenging but not demanding and very enjoyable. Friendly pro shop although very small and understocked for the size of the hotel complex. Overall a nice place to play and great value,£15 each on a friday, cant complain!! Dont foget to check out the halfwat house, great suasage n egg baps!!

The course has undergone a considerable amount of work to drainage etc. which has affected play for the last 12 months but the course is coming back to its best and I can see it being one of the best value courses around here come the summer. The greens have being fantasic and considered among the best in Shropshire in the past and if the work on the course continues then this could soon be the case again. Well worth a look if you are in the area.
