Blackwell Grange Golf Club

What we say

Blackwell Grange Golf Club is certainly looking and playing good these days with the planting of 7,000 trees over the past decade or so helping to add further beauty to an already remarkable setting.

Signature hole is the 2nd where you're twice firing over water, the green tantalisingly lying beyond a pond. But there's a crop of cracking holes and another one to relish is the 15th where you can either play safe or risk it by 'going for it.'

  • 4 out of 5 Rainy but Nice

Nice course with some challenging holes which you play blind as the trees play a big factor. Fairways are in top condition and greens are well maintained but very fast and consistent. This is a nice course and one of the best in the area.

  • 3 out of 5 A short challange!

Blackwell grange is just a regular local golf club, that makes the game enjoyable affordable yet a satisfing challange for all handicappers. The 1st a long par 4 i say the hardest hole of the cource greets you with a tough opening tee shot one not for the faint hearted, stray but slightly left and a large old oak tree stertching out into the fairway gives you little shot to the green from here you will find your self struggeling get on in 2 and make par. this sets the tone for the round really, for what can be a simple cource if played well and consitantly but stary from the tee's and you may find your self in the many trees surounded by thick rough. The highlight of the round comes at the 15th a short driveable par 4. uphill all the way plays much futher than the 290 yard marking from the tee, a pond at the dipp of the hill witch will gladly coleect any topped drives and deep bunkers protecting the up slope to the green with one also siiting in the left center of the fairway a clever tee shot is needed, bunkers are a no go steep and deep. Right is a line of tall trees and left is also tricky. A long iron of the tee laying short of the bunker and a chip to the well slopped green is needed. dont be fooled by its short yardage it plays at least 30 yards futher. A good solid golf club witch can be enjoyed at a good price, food is also of par. Enjoy the cource keep straight dont be brave and you will shoot well.
