Darlington Golf Club

What we say

A real parkland treat: delightful Darlington was the handiwork of Augusta National creator Alister Mackenzie and certainly has its comparisons with the home of the US Masters. It boasts big rolling greens which demand a red hot putter along with densely tree-lined fairways so good course management is critical. Mature century-old parkland layout – designed by Augusta National creator Alister MacKenzie – covering more than 6,000 very testing yards. But it’s a very fair test with immaculately prepared rolling greens, lush and tight tree-lined fairways. As at MacKenzie’s Georgia masterpiece, all the holes are individually named and the short par-2 12th, known as ‘Tickle Tap’ is a real treat.

Founded in 1908 and designed by Dr Alistair Mackenzie, designer of Augusta National, Darlington Golf Club 18 hole parkland golf course shares several similarities to the Masters’ track: the huge rolling greens, lush, tree-lined fairways and unforgiving semi-rough challenges golfers of all abilities.
