We played the course on 23 June 2009 and it was a round of hugely varying weather, unfortunately. Starting off in scorching weather the greens were VERY fast and the ball scuttled along the fairway (thank goodness). There are some really good undulations with raised greens and raised tees that provide the players with SUPERB views of the beatiful Yorkshire countryside - worth the cost of the fee in themselves! Hole14 (surely it should be Stroke Index 1?) and Hole 15 (you just HAVE to go for the green but beware!) created our "Amen Corner" but were really great to play with Eller Beck there (also on the 13th) to welcome any wayward shot! On the 17th green (another tester that kids you with its Stroke Index 16) the heavens opened and we had to abandon our round. We received a very warm welcome from members and staff - in particular the Club pro, Peter Robinson. Would we recommend the course? Certainly! Will we return (to finish a round)? Definitely!

The day we played was really windy, which gave us a problem on some of the higher placed tee's. The greens and the fairways were in exellent condition and the views across the yorkshire dales wonderful.A special mention for Peter the pro, who made everything so easy when booking and on arrival, and after the round he took the time to chat about course and our round altogether a very enjoyable day.
