  • 1.5 out of 5 Miserable Money Grabbers

    By NatHaffler

We tried to use a 2 for 1 voucher today, and waited for a good 10 minutes whilst the man in the shop grumbled on to a friend on the phone, we felt like we were intruding on his time, and showed no signs of curtailing his conversation even for a few seconds to acknowledge our presence. He managed to fit in a money gesture with his fingers and thumb and beckoned us to hand over our cash and voucher whilst still talking, then he spent a while examining the voucher intensely as if he was looking for any little loophole that would invalidate its worth. He still chatted away about sundry irritations as a queue formed behind us with people shuffling about anxiously hoping to make some progress. The cost of a round there is £26 mid-week, Startling when you consider you could get a friendlier response if you poked a stranger in the eye. On the second from home one of my playing partners had the misfortune to visit 2 bunkers on a par three and was just about to strike his putt when a yell from the tee of: "HOWAY MAN!" filled the air from a rotund chap sporting charming tatoos and jogging pants. Coarse* Review (*Course) Course: Average, no more, no less. Not much variety most of the holes look and play the same. Greens: Decent Bunkers: Job lot of sand left over from Building contractors, Very Poor. Verdict: Overpriced, Ordinary, Obtuse

played of fairway tee's but on the greens which were very soft underfoot which made putting a little bit of a lottery. The course it's self is canny not Slaley etc. but a course you can play your game without to much frustration I enjoyed it and would go back again. The clubhouse is showing it's age but the service and food was good.

  • 4.5 out of 5 Blyth is beautiful

    By gavin stewart

This course is absolotuely amazing, Im newish to golf only been playing 3-4 years but love it. Not great yet but getting there. Ive played a few courses, but recently moved up to blyth and have played there twice now. I have to say its an amazing course. Like i say im new to golf but this course completely suites my style and ability and i have halved my scores since playing there. The scenery is great and the course itself is a beauty to behold. I would reccomend it to anyone.

  • 4.5 out of 5 beauty in the beast.

I live in Blyth itself and the area of Newsham has always been a place of Blyth to stay clear of. How on earth a golf course so beautiful could be found there. A test for any handicapper. This beautiful parkland course has defnitley some of the best greens in England. The course is fabulous and the whole aura of the course is brilliant. And the value is superb. (The food is also stunning!)
