Sitwell Park Golf Club

What we say

An Alister Mackenzie unsung hero – the Augusta master created Sitwell a century ago and it’s  always in good condition, offering a splendid variety of holes. A tough, specially coming down the stretch, but fair test though you need to take great care on the classic Mackenzie greens – fast with some tricky reads.

More Top 2-FORE!-1 parkland courses

Sitwell Park is an equally tough and fair challenge, with arguably one of the most highly respected finishes in the area. The holes snake their way across picturesque parkland, offering a diverse challenge for golfers of all abilities and experience. And then there are the classic Mackenzie greens, fast, with some tricky reads.

Your Reviews

  • 3 out of 5 Good course with some weak holes

    By Redphildo

A friendly welcome at this lovely parkland course which usually has good greens. There are a considerable number of challenging and interesting holes spoiled only by a couple of poor short par 4s. The closing stretch from 13 to 18 provides a good examination. Pro-shop and bar are both friendly and accesslble to visitors.

  • 5 out of 5 Great course!

Played here a few times and it's always in perfect condition. Some great holes and perfect greens! Definitley the best course in the area and I'd recommend it to anyone.

  • 4 out of 5 Very Nice

    By swilson-101

Played this course for the first time in a junior competition for my club and I have to say i was impresed by it. Very few holes are similar and the wind factor + terrain make this a very interesting and difficult course to play. The greens were running true and fast but some tees were uneven in places. To score well you have to think your way around. I was 7 under my handicap (of 17) on the 15th but unfortunately my playing partners were being complete a*se holes and i just gave up and wanted to finish my round ASAP after that. I finished on 2 under and would deffinetly play again (just with different playing partners next time). The club house is also very nice with two separate rooms for eating you food and drinking. There are also a couple of snooker tables as well. If you get a chance i recommend you give this course a go you deffinetly wont regret it!

  • 3.5 out of 5 Sitwell Park - A hiden gem

Hidden off in a corner of Rotherham many golfers will drive past this course and not give a second glance. I suggest that they reconsider. A relatively short but interesting course which is on rolling landscape (and quite draining - both n trolley battery and legs!). If the ball is hit straight then scores will be good, but there are areas that bite back. A good society course with exceptionally quick McKenzie greens. Fairways were in good condition and rough when in it is tight (although most balls were found). Well worth a trip and is on two fore one list. Welcoming proshop and clubhouse. Gets my thumbs up
