What we say

The golf course is open every day of the year (except Christmas Day) during daylight hours. Booking is essential at weekends and Bank holidays, which can be made 3 days in advance. All standards of golfers are welcome at CLGC including beginners and juniors. To book a tee time call 020 8871 2468. Our floodlit Driving Range has been fitted with Power Tees giving consistent set-up and stance, more effective practice time and a smooth repetitive golf swing.

At 2,332 yards, the course has an interesting mix of five par 3s and four par 4s, ranging from 141 yards to challenging 422 yards, and is an enjoyable test for all standards of golfer. Watch out for the 363 yard 2nd, a tough hole coming early in the round, and the 141 yard finishing hole over water.

  • 5 out of 5 Best in London for ladies & Seniors golf lessons

    By Gary Ley

It has a growing reputation for being the best around for Ladies & Seniors golf lessons in London . This is partly due to the fantastic approach of the resident Academy Golf Teaching Professional Gary Ley .You are treated as an individual ,not only there to learn how to play the game of golf but he ensures every one is made welcome and in doing so it becomes very enjoyable. Central London Golf Centre has a covered driving range, 9 hole golf course, functions rooms, licence bar with food & coffee/tea facilities etc, and free parking ,where else in Central London can you have all of these in one place.

Problem with living in London is getting access to courses to play golf. There are some courses around and they are only a few miles to get to, but in London traffic it still takes you 45 minutes. Central London on the other hand is a 9 hole course that is very convenient to get to, its only saving grace. It does have a driving range attached, but only about 100 yards long which is about as useful as a lead balloon. Still if you're desperate. Then there is the course, obviously it is played often but is that an excuse for the conditions the course is in (and I have played there in summer and winter - not much difference really). It has poor drainage, bunkers are full of rocks, fairways are incredibly narrow, people without a clue about golf etiquette play, the greens are as smooth as a country dirt road and the list goes on. Whilst they may get a lot of people through the door it is a shame that such a conveniently located 9 hole course trades off its convenience and they don't take the time to ensure its upkeep (all I am asking is for them to do the basics). If they don't want a proper golf course then bulldoze it and extend the range, make it proper instead of the miniature size it is now. To sum it up, it is convenient for those who live in London but it is a goat track of a course and I wish they spent some money in doing the basics.
