Canterbury Golf Club

What we say

Canterbury is a challenging 82-year-old parkland in the heart of the Garden of England. You’ll particularly relish the 11th and 12th, Canterbury’s very own Amen Corner. You can warm-up on the new range with a free bucket of balls.

Designed by Harry Colt, this is one of the best-looking and most challenging inland courses in the county. The front nine is particularly striking as it wonderfully weaves through mature woodland. The par 3s are also particularly strong, none more so than the second hole on both the inward and outward half.

At times it can be a little hilly but you’ll love hitting from a number of elevated tees over steep valleys. Canterbury Golf Club is situated 1/2 mile from the City Centre in a delightful woodland setting in the heart of East Kent. It enjoys easy access to the motorway network and to the Continent (half hour to the Channel ports and tunnel).

  • 3.5 out of 5 A 2-4-1 Gem

    By NationwideLeague

A lovely course that offered a real test for our middle to low handicap players. The course is well maintained although the fairways are begining to suffer from the long dry spell we are having. The tight fairways and interesting pin positions made it a thoughtful round of golf. The 2 fore 1 vouchers make it a course worth visiting. We look forward to playing later in the year.

  • 3.5 out of 5 canterbury golf club from a junior playre

this is a lovely course nicely layed out and overall a wonderfully tight course to play but one thing that held me back about this course was the welcome i got as a junior golfer i am a 2 handicapper so i shouldnt have got this welcome i provided a handicap certiffecite and was very polite but he aws still insistant on being rude and honestly taking the p**s i will visit again and no matter what the discriminations are i will enjoy my golf. the guy in the clubhouse was gobsmacked when i came back after my first ever outing and being only one shot off the course record this gave me some self confidence in my day. overall i think that the course is wonderfully testing course but the staff are also quite testing with youre pacience. other great courses in area are: boughton golf club broome park golf club boughton is my home club and everyone is so polite and holpfull and it is of a higher standerd than canterbury golf club.
