Deangate Ridge Golf Club

What we say

Deangate is a fine example of a municipal course and is usually in good nick. We played deep in winter and there wasn’t a temporary green in sight! Fairways are fairly wide so you can regularly pull out the driver though you need to be aware of ditches weaving down several holes.

Opened in 1972 by the boxer, Sir Henry Cooper, and designed by F. W. Hawtree, the course boasts high quality fairways and greens. It is one of the most reasonably priced courses in the south-east. Set among rolling parkland and trees, the course has a number of memorable holes. The most breathtaking has to be the 392 yard, par-4 6th hole nicknamed "Cardiac Hill". Great views off the tee hide a shot that is anything but clear-cut on the par-3 4th hole, that is both Beauty and the Beast. However the narrow, tree-lined 204 yard par-3 17th is just plain beast.

They do have a putting green and a driving range. Pro staff very welcoming and drinks and food well priced. The course is well priced as it's not always in the best conditions. Although as it's not the hardest course just a very casual social course I regularly will go there.
