Stanmore Golf Club

What we say

It may be short in length but don't be fooled: Stanmore's fairways are usually in excellent condition as are the greens, which are playable all-year round, but they're extremely tight so pinpoint driving is the name of the game here. There's a cracking mix of holes too, including some fine par 3s.

Your Reviews

  • 5 out of 5 Thouroughly engaging.

Played here on the strength of a friends recommendation. An Alister MacKenzie course built in 1922 and the great mans touch is evident. It seems the 1st is a shadow of its former golry due to surburban encroachmment. This course plays much tougher than the 5975yds par 69 (the details above are wrong, please fix). Excellent golf course , friendly and comfortable old world club house.

We played this course last week and really enjoyed it. From the friendly welcome through the excellent fairways and greens to the 19th it was hard to find fault.

I love this course. Long par 4's, trees and tranquility. Tremendous value for money on open days.

  • 3 out of 5 short but sweet

A very pleasant day out in the sun. Greens were in superb condition throughout although their were a few patches off the green being repaired it didn't affect play.
