The River Yeo weaves it way through Downes Crediton Golf Club's golf course, making it a picturesque setting, but at the same time interesting for those who like to play a golf course with water. The front nine holes are a flat walk and cross the river twice including once with a drive. The back nine is hillier and has two ponds that come into play if a less than perfect shot is made.

    This course is a good test of accurate golf, with rewards for being straight and long and penalties for being wayward. It is still however rewarding for the high handicapper. The front nine is flat with trees lining the fairways and a river running through, the back nine in contrast is undulating with some elevated tees and greens to add to the test. Good food in the club house and a warm welcome from members. Green fees are £30 a round.
