Goring and Streatley Golf Club

What we say

This excellent downland is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and from the highest points affords panoramic views. The greens, which boast subtle borrows, are always in top-notch nick.

Originally founded as a nine-hole golf course in 1895, the golf course was extended to the present 18 holes in 1928. It provides magnificent views of the Ridgeway and the River Thames winding like a silver ribbon on its way from Oxford to Reading and is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The greens have surfaces full of intricate subtleties and are never easy to read - even to the most experienced eye. Accommodation: The Bull in Streatley.

A horrid welcome from the PRO ! A coarse in good condition, fast greens, you have to pitch well short of the green otherwise your ball rolls over the back, so slightly unfair. The first four holes are all up hill!Shot 92 in AM and 79 in the PM round, plus 5 golf balls lost!
