Always talked about as being long, well yes but only if you play from the longest tee at just over 7000 yards. To be honest playing a driver on pretty much every par4/5 can get a little boring after a while, but the course uses its location well enough. Doglegs greet you on a few holes and its nice to see them go both ways as too many courses cater only for the fade. The course played well for us, and probably played to its full length due to the softer ground conditions. Greens were well cut and ran true, although not the biggest greens it would be good to see other pin positions on a subsequent visit. No complaints about course quality, whilst not immaculate it was decent quality in our tricky conditions. Use the map though as you could get lost between a couple of the holes, if your not watching the group in front. The par 5's use up most of my long hits and I couldn't get close to the greens in 2 hits, and the par 3's need good hits too, no skimping on a short one here. Tee areas are still lumpy and bumpy, but shouldn't distract from the great views. Practice facilities are fine for the type of club. As a top 100 club is previous years I'm pleasantly surprised when I visit, and its certainly worth a visit as the green fees are very good for a nomad.
