What we say
Bulbury Woods Golf Club is a 6002-yard, 18-hole, par 71 golf course with tree-lined fairways and panoramic views across the Purbecks. Precision is definitely more important than power right from the offset, the slight left-dogleg opening hole swiftly followed by a 345 yard par 4. Both have plenty of timber either side of the fairway and require deadly accurate drives.
Standing on the Par 5, 9th tee you can stand back and enjoy the superb panoramic views of the Purbeck Hills and Poole Harbour which really are breathtaking, before attempting to place your drive down a narrow corridor with Out of Bounds all down the right hand side!
The 14th 338 yard par 4 is yet another challenging hole! After overcoming the dogleg you are faced with a short iron to the green with a pond strategically placed immediately behind.

Bulbury offers excellent value for money using the 2for1 vouchers. I've played it numerous times over the last few years and the course is always in great shape. It can get a little boggy in the winter months (as do most courses) and the layout isn't necessarily brilliant with all the par 3s coming in the space of 7 holes (6th, 7th, 10th, & 12th) but the tees and fairways are excellent and the greens are consistent and quick. The welcome is always warm and friendly. The staff even allowed me to book two 4balls on a Sunday morning at 7am recently (even though the early times are reserved for members) and still allowed the use of 2for1s. Not massively long but it doesn't need to be as wayward shots are punished.
Cannot beat this course for value for money. Course is very well looked after, staff very freindly.
I loved this course. Challenging even for a seasoned player. Excellent value for money, well worth a visit.
