Sherfield Oaks Golf Club (Wellington)

What we say

A good variety of holes with good greens. Another highpoint was the food in the impressive clubhouse. The star hole was the par-5 15th. It gives you the option: it’s either a genuine three-shotter or you can go for it in two, although, with the heavy rough on the right, it’s quite a testing drive.

Sherfield Oaks Golf Course boasts the 6,412 yard, par 72 Wellington golf course, running through ancient woodland and landscaped parkland, and the the 5,841 yard, par 69 Waterloo golf course.

Sherfield Oaks also offers tuition, practice areas, a well stocked pro shop and glorious function room.

I am a member of the crown golf society, and this is my home club. Both courses offer differing tests, both are very good, solid courses, requiring fairways drives, and solid iron play. The rough can be thick, especially during the summer months so be prepaired to chip out if needed. I prefer the waterloo,if only because the fairways area little wider, and the finishing hole is a true tempting par 4...go over the trees to reach the green in one, or play down the middle and trust your short irons to a green that sits in front of the clubhouse.......
