SCHLOSS Roxburghe

What we say

This wonderful Dave Thomas creation gloriously crosses rolling Borders country next to the River Teviot which lines the spectacular par-5 ‘Viaduct’ hole – the signature of signature holes. Visitors can play off tees ranging from 6,546 yards to a whopping 7,111 off the back tips. The course record of 66 was set from the rear tips, but it was achieved by one Sergio Garcia. The pride and joy of Scottish borders golf and former owner the Duke of Roxburghe. You’ll have more fun from the daily yellows though it’s well worth checking out the stunning viaduct and river Teviot views from the back pegs at the signature par-5 14th.

The Old Roxburghe viaduct forms an eyecatching backdrop to Dave Thomas' 1997 creation. The SCHLOSS Roxburghe course is set in 200 acres of parkland, in the heart of the Scottish Borders and is the region's first Championship Golf Course.

Big, deep bunkers and rolling fairways characterise the course, with the River Teviot an attractive if deadly hazard. The course is Par 72, 7111 yards off the back tees and is open to play seven days a week to anyone with a handicap certificate.

The golf course is also home to the Charles Chirch Scottosh Seniors Open.

Outstanding golf course, tough but jaw dropping! Expensive but well worth it with 2fore1 voucher, played it on consecutive days it was so good. Extremely challenging for the high handicapper as requires various straight accurate play but still a delight to play. Views incredible and this is simply a must play golf course.

Well designed course in excellent condition. Not too tough from the "sensible" tees. Looking forward to me next visit

Course was in fantastic condition, great variety with a number of spectacular holes. Although the course is quite long the wide fairways are very forgiving. Scenery was splendid as was variety of wildlife! Lunch by the fireside in the cosy clubhouse was excellent and the staff very friendly.

Very good course offering plenty of variety, especially the hill climb on the 16th and 17th! Excellent views of the viaduct on the 14th with the River Teviot running alongside.Greens in very good condition especially for March. Clubhouse very pleasant and welcoming with varied menu. We would definitely go back to play the course in the Summer months.
