The course is very undulating and you really have to think about your shots because there’s plenty of timber and water around. The two signature holes are the 4th, a 213 yards par 3 over water, and the 11th, a fantastic 561 yards par 5 where you need to hit your third shot over, avoiding the OB on the right.

Bryn Meadows opened in 1973 and enables golfers to drive down tree-lined fairways onto greens that have views over five valleys and as far as the Brecon Beacons, about 40 miles away.

Accommodation: There’s an on-site four star hotel offering 40 plus rooms and excellent leisure and spa facilities.
