Golfe do Morgado

What we say

If you’re going to score well at Morgado de Reguengo Golf Course, you need to do so on the benign, straight forward front nine. The opening stretch of holes are something of a stroll in the park compared to the more testing holes after the turn which, in the main, is due to the hillier, rolling terrain which means you’re likely to be playing lots of shots from uphill or downhill lies. There’s plenty of strategically-placed bunkers too while generally the greens are fast and true. They are also fairly big so the threat of three-putting is always there.

At 6998 yards(6399 meters) long, the Par 73, Morgado Golf Course, is one of the longest in the region. The 18 hole course is in an area that has been moderately landscaped so it fits perfectly in the surrounding countryside. Besides its length, the course also has an impressive average green size.

  • 3.5 out of 5 Impressive but not spectacular!!!

A lovely open course with beautiful views of the hills and scenery around, out in the middle of the sticks. The longer of the two courses, it's open fairways and heavily guarded bunkers still make this a big challenge for all golfers. The fairways and greens are in as good condition as i have seen from many a course and although the clubhouse isn't the best in means of facilities and character it does suit it's surroundings, the price of green fees is a little steep but if you play this course as part of a golfing package you will not be dissapointed...play here before the scheduled hotel and other leisure facilities are built as the prices will rocket!!!

  • 2.5 out of 5 Lacking in character

Out in the middle of nowhere along a dusty track, but not a villa in sight and there are some lovely views. No traffic noise so very tranquil. Course is long, with a gentle and fairly uninspiring front 9, with plenty of out of bounds awaiting the wayward and a large irrigation lake. Back 9 climbs up and over and is most spectacular with some challenging holes and lovely scenery. Clubhouse is large but lacking in character. Not worth the green fees, when there are better courses (quality and value) nearby.

  • 4 out of 5 A little expensive

Really nice for a new layout.  The greens and fairways were some of the best we played on during our week of golf.  Great practice facilities and the mountain views were excellent.  Although the access road was a bit rough, we would certainly go back there.  Maybe a little on the expensive side.

Great course. Little known and so very quiet. But top condition and a real hidden gem.
