Alhaurin Golf Club

What we say

Alhaurin Golf Club is tucked away a bit, but once you find it, it’s not a bad golf course. The scenery is spectacular, but the condition of the golf course leaves a little to be desired. The clubhouse is good and it’s great value for money.

Alhaurin Golf Club may have been designed by Seve Ballesteros but it is exactly the type of golf course the great man would struggle on. Tight fairways flanked by uncompromising wilderness make this a golf course for the accurate. Even if you find the short stuff, you can hit trouble; the 4th fairway has three trees in the middle. Yet a stunning setting, high in the Mijas hills and overlooking the Med, will ensure a memorable day, however many balls you lose.

  • 3 out of 5 Verging on unfair but great views

    By Old Timer

Our group had handicaps from 1 to 24 and all of the mid to higher handicaps struggled with this course. Many of the holes had semi blindf tee shot and the odd visual trick to make them look narrower than they actually are so it was hard to get the ball in play. Some tee boxes in poor condition. Great settings for many greens and spectacular views.

  • 2 out of 5 Shame about the Green Staff

    By MalcolmKF

Overall the course was in good condition however the the green staff let the side down as they did not know when to switch off their equipment when you played - by the 9th hole any semblance of a proper game had disappeared!!!. As with a lot of courses in this area, it is very expensive compared to comparable UK courses and you need to buy your refreshments in a supermarket first. A buggy is a must!!. I was told by a Spaniard Cadiz was a better and cheaper area.

Bit tatty around the edges. Greens not in very good condition. Gets easier each time you play. Lots of blind tee shots. Some great views.

  • 3 out of 5 Great views...

Great setting, but the course does not quite live up to the views.
