Golf Club Girona was designed by Fred Hawtree – the man behind Birkdale and St Andrews New. And this golf course, opened in 1991, is pretty much on that level, with elevated tees overlooking pine-clad valleys and dramatic ravines. Sloping fairways and greens make shooting a good score a struggle, but the spectacular setting is more than enough to compensate.

    This is an older course built in the hills above Girona. Not in the best condition when we played it but a fabulous test of golf. Stunninmg views with some great holes.
