An eye-catching rise for the Blue following considerable work on the course and the panel feeling the gap in the 2010 list between The Berkshire’s courses was too large. Since August 2010 The Berkshire has undertaken a lot of maintenance on the greens on both its courses in a bid to create a firmer, drier surface; this has been successful and remains an on-going process.

The club has also gone down a traditional route of presentation by hand cutting both greens and tees as well as dark and light fairways, which suits the Berkshire. They have undertaken a lot of woodland management with the thinning out of trees, and Rhododendron removal to let more light and air into the greens and tees.

The 10th hole on the Blue has a pond that they have made approximately a third larger and is now a lot more aesthetically pleasing and a little more in play for the members. They have also just started a bunker renovation program that will be ongoing for the next few years. The Berkshire prides itself in not trying to change too much from its original designs by Herbert Fowler, but subtly keeps up with the times.
