This remote course in Belmullet was prolific Irish designer Eddie Hackett’s last piece of work before he died – and it is probably his best. It is enormous fun. It lies on a peninsula in massive dunes with fine views across Blacksod Bay to the Atlantic islands of Inis Goire and Geidhewild. But you don’t notice these, there are too many thrills to be had among the dunes to look beyond them.
