Mentmore Golf & Country Club – The Rothschild

Last Updated:

What we say

The 18 hole championship standard 6,800 yards par 72 Rothschild course is set in rolling parkland and has a different set of challenges with water hazards dominating six of the opening nine holes. The back nine are played beneath the honey-coloured turrets of the Towers whose watchful gaze can be inspirational to the most humble of golfers, particularly the 14th hole when a carry over more water can test even the strongest nerve. Complacency must be avoided until the 18th hole has been successfully negotiated, as this long par 3 between trees and over a small pond can be a potential card wrecker.

As a previous club member, I have enjoyed playing both Mentmore courses and would recommend the golf to anyone. The course and greens are usually in very good condition and are definitely challenging. The Rothchild is flater with water hazards, while the Roseberry has fantastic views back down to the clubhouse from the elevated 9th and 18th holes
