Tydd St Giles Golf Centre

What we say

A decent if unspectacular modern golf centre at the heart of rural flat-as-a-pancake Fen country – it’s pretty easy-walking then.

There’s a good mix of holes but the real plus point about Tydd is that the par-70 parkland layout is playable all-year round with the normal tees and greens virtually certain to be in play. You can comfortably warm-up too on the undercover driving range.

Tydd St. Giles Golf Centre was developed in the early 90s and boasts a newly built clubhouse. The golf course is probably one of the few in the country to be able to offer golf 52 weeks of the year. Its larger than average greens and tees, designed by Adrian Hurst, are kept in excellent condition all year round.

The new 18 hole golf course is now open and has a par of 70 and a length of around 6,300 yards. You need to consider that all the greens are around 50 yards long so pin positions in the summer months will add approximately 400 yards to the golf course, making the length around 6,700 yards.

Even in its early years, it will be a challenge for even the most talented of golfers and we are sure it will be a favourite with locals. With a few more years of maturity, this golf course should become one of the area's finest.

The golf centre already has a reputation for its friendly atmosphere and welcomes visitors, either green fee players or societies. The clubhouse and undercover floodlit driving range are open all day, everyday and our resident golf professional John Ronson, is available most days for lessons by appointment.

This is the friendliest golf club i have ever had the pleasure to play at. Always get a warm welcome from all the staff. There are plenty of practise facilities. The greens are huge with a lot of contours and always in good condition all year round. Also there will soon be a swimming pool and leisure centre added to the facillities. Would reccomend tydd to everyone looking for a great day out before, during and after the round.

  • 3.5 out of 5 A pleasant surprise

Very good condition for a newish course. The greens were a little slow, howerver that was mainly due to them recently being treated. Unsurprisingly it's pretty flat, no spectacular holes but those over or around Lakes/Ponds are interesting. Back to the greens, larger than the norm' and some are huge.
