Forest Pines Golf Course & Country Club Hotel – Forest/Beeches

Last Updated:

What we say

Since it opened a decade ago, Forest Pines Golf Course has picked up a whole host of golf course awards and accolades, including fifth spot in this magazine’s Top 100 2-FORE!-1 Golf Courses poll in 2006, and no wonder. Forest Pines Golf Course is a revelation: the Woburn lookalike looks and feels like it’s been here forever.

There are three loops of nine (the Forest and Pines is the main golf course, ably supported by the Beeches nine) but whichever loop you’re tackling, you’ll need to keep the ball arrow-straight, particularly off the tee, to keep it out of the tall timber lining most fairways.  You can now save up to 50% by booking a tee time on line.

Forest Pines is arguably the premier golf hotel in Lincolnshire, its challenging fairways and greens seamlessly rolling through a natural canvas of ancient woods and wild heathland. Forest Pines was designed by PGA Senior Tour player John Morgan.

One of the shining stars of 2-FORE!-1, Forest Pines has gone from strength-to-strength since opening over a decade ago. It’s the impressive home of three loops of nine (Forest, Pines and Beeches), all weaving through a natural canvas of woods and heath. Top facilities too including a classy 188-room hotel.

  • 4 out of 5 Forest pines

    By Hard to please

Fairways really excellent , greens so so , expected better based on number of green staff working no help on tees to advise where hole goes and how far to bunkers which was disappointing as pretty standard fare on all courses cant help feeling its set up for corporate and i feel sorry for members.

Played here on tuesday and weds of this week. From the second we teed off we absolutely loved it. Each hole weaves between huge pines trees on all 3 nines. Every hole is memorable and the course is in absolutely stunning condition with silky smooth greens and lush fairways and rough. The clubhouse is great with a great choice of food and drink and the staff were very friendly. The only negatives would be the range were you can only hit up to an 8 iron and the fact that because of the 3 nine layout as we approached our 10th holes the starter set off 3 x 4 balls in front of us which meant waiting 30 minutes on the 10th! However, it is an excellent venue which will no doubt get more expensive if they get the solheim cup. For £30 a day it is fantastic value too

I played the course during the recent very wet spell and was impressed by the condition it was in; we played of normal tees to proper greens. When I arrived I expected a normal hotel/holiday course having had to drive around the large hotel looking for somewhere to park. The clubhouse and bar are very new and have been recently extended. All the staff were very helpful and all offered to give advice if you looked lost, as I did. I had forgotten my umbrella so went to buy one in the shop but they had sold out. A member of the club was in the shop and loaned me his own umbrella despite having only just met me. Thank you very much. The course was in very good condition despite the rain but the only downside I could think of is that there was a lot of very deep rough in places and, unless you were lucky, you lost a ball if you strayed too far from the fairway. A course guide or local knowledge is essential to playing your best and straight is better then long, every time. I know I will be going back, hopefully when it is dry.
