North Shore Golf Club

Last Updated:

What we say

It’s literally down the coast from Skegness and as a result provides super holiday golf, while virtually guaranteeing excellent year-round play. North Shore is something of a golfing rarity as it offers and intriguing and strong links and parkland combination. Some great holes run along the coast and there’s a stirring finish too. A blind par 3 and a couple of short and driveable par 4s are among the attractions.

Situated close to the beach, the James Braid-designed North Shore Golf Course dates back to 1910. Its two loops of nine offer a combination of links and parkland golf course. The golf course is complemented by a comfortable 36-bedroom hotel, which doubles as a clubhouse.

  • 3.5 out of 5 Brilliant views and spot on greens

I played here on a recent trip to Skegness and I am so pleased I made the effort. the links section of the course was in very good condition with very good greens and fairways. There is also a very tricky parkland part of the course with some very unforgiving holes. but again has very good greens. The course was very well maintained with nice shell paths. Also brilliant views over the sea on the parkland part of the course. I played in very wet weather but was still a very enjoyable round of golf. Will deffinatly play again when im in the area. ALTHOUGH BILLED AS TWO LOOPS OF NINE AND A COMBINATION OF LINKS/PARKLAND THIS TESTING COURSE IS REALLY A PARKLAND COURSE NEAR THE SEA. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT IN POOR WEATHER BUT GREENS WERE GOOD IF NOT REALLY MATCHED BY SOME SCRUFFY GREENKEEPING ELSEWHERE - CHANGING FACILITIES IF YOU'RE NOT A HOTEL GUEST ARE A BIT RUBBISH. NOT BAD BUT THERE ARE BETTER IN AREA.

Little gem this one tucked away in darkest Skegness. Can make your mind up on playing a links or parkland? Do worry just play the North Shore where you can get both at noo extra charge!! The course was in fantastic condition (both greens and fairways)when we took our Society there in March although a buggy ban was still in place (probably why it was in such good condition!) The course has some fine golf holes the 4th and the 17th spring to mind. My personal favorite however is the drivable par 4 9th which looks easier off the tee than it is in reality due to some fine bunkering. One of Braids best!
