Kings Lynn Golf Club

Last Updated:

What we say

One of the best inland courses in East Anglia, King’s Lynn was carved out of a wonderful north west Norfolk pine and silver birch forest and was created by dynamic duo Dave Thomas and Peter Alliss in the mid-1970s. It’s not the longest course, but the gently undulating heathland’s biggest defence is the towering stands of assorted timber overlooking all the fairways.

King's Lynn  Golf Club is just down the road from the Royal Sandringham Estate and this sandy, well-drained golf course compares favourably with some of the finest inland courses in the country. The golf club was founded in 1923 and moved to its current site in 1975, the layout being designed by Dave Thomas and Peter Alliss.

Accommodation: The Knights Hill Hotel is a short drive away.

Couldn't have asked for a better start to our tour of the region. It was a Sunday morning and the steward and stewardess kindly opened up the catering so we could get a cuppa before our marathon 36 holes. The Pro was extremely welcoming and thanked us for visiting. As we were all single figure golfers he allowed us to play off the back tees, which made what was already a challenging looking track a little more of a test. Each hole was different and offered its own unique challenge, be it narrow fairways, blind shots or well placed hazzards. The course condition was excellent, although the tees were in need of some attention. We broke the two rounds up with a great lunch overlooking the 18th green - again very welcoming and accomodating staff. Overall the welcome and the course means that Kings Lynn is a definite one to come back too..

Really tight and very woburn-esque. Great clubhouse and a course that offers a stern test for every level of golfer. Great fun
