What we say

Lives in the shadows of Northants County GC, but has a good combination of short and long holes with a variety of hazards on approach shots making club selection key.

More Top 2-FORE!-1 heathland courses

Brampton Heath Golf Centre is located on undulating heathland, sitting on very free draining soil. This allows play all year round, always with trolleys and never on tee mats. The greens play very true at all times and the fairways are arguably considered the best in the County.

Brampton Heath is constantly improved every season through the construction of new tees, hazards such as ditches and mounds, and an extensive tree planting programme. The golf course provides a fair test for players of all abilities - any visitor is welcome to play the golf course off the competition tees at any time.

The gold club's reputation has already earned recognition, by hosting both the Boys and Seniors County Championships in the last two years and in 2002 hosting the N.G.U. Hollingsworth Final - the County's premier team event.

The main golf course is supported by a nine-hole par 27 layout which is ideal for new players to gain confidence before tackling an 18 hole golf course and also for experienced golfers to work on their short game.

  • 4 out of 5 What a very wet day

    By Gary

Played the course in the worst rain ever and had to give up on 11th. However the course played fine. Food in the club house has gone down in quality, used to be the best mixed grill around!!!

This course is very samey as said but other reviewers - but at least it is playable all year round. Drainage is excellent, no winter tees & greens in good nick. Course is pretty flat & the greens also. NOTE THE COST THOUGH - £25 for weekends - even in the recession which is probably why the course is not full & in good nick

  • 2.5 out of 5 Rather flat and uninteresting.

Not the most inspiring course and a bit easy really. There are some much nicer courses in the vicinity which I would play first. A pay and play standard. I played the back 9 level par, so it's flattering but not a challenge.

  • 3.5 out of 5 good all year round

decent course with great drainage, so it can be played all year round, although difficult to get on during winter due to clubs winter league. some stretches can get a bit samey at times but definately worth a visit.
