Silverstone Golf Club

What we say

Silverstone of course is synonymous with a much speedier sport and in stark contrast this motorsport mad town’s golf course serenely sits dead opposite the world-famous racing circuit.

The course (golf that is) has improved significantly in recent years but the club isn’t resting on its laurels and in fact is intent on making further improvements in the future.

It’s a relatively flat track so don’t expect to be floored by the views, but it has got some good-looking holes, particularly on the back nine.

The greens can be as fast as, dare we say it, the nearby race track, but they are true and good putts will be rewarded. However, the bunkers weren’t the best and were in need of some tender loving care.

Driving accuracy isn’t too important. Although most fairways are lined with small trees, you’d be unfortunate not to have some kind of shot at those rather slick green.

Established in 1992, Silverstone Golf Club offers an 18 hole parkland course, surrounded by scenic mature woodland. The course was originally designed by David Snell. The course features some hazards presented by trickily placed trees, and defensive bunkers, resulting in a challenging game for any golfer.
